Shawville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania
Pedersen & Pedersen, Inc. was tasked with developing a full property mosaic for the 11-mile natural gas pipeline corridor in rural Shawville, PA. Project challenges included meeting a expedited schedule in hilly wooded terrain with multiple stream, river, and road crossings.
To prepare the property mosaic, P&P staff researched deeds for properties adjacent to the project corridor. Field activities were conducted to locate existing property evidence. Deeds and surveyed data were then plotted to create a base property mosaic, from which P&P’s licensed PLS determined property boundary lines for the 11 mile corridor.
In addition to boundary information, P&P’s property mosaic included significant existing site features extending 75′ to either side of the corridor. Field surveys were conducted to supplement existing LIDAR mapping to locate visible and marked utilities, road crossings, stream crossings with cross-section with centerline depth at the point where the proposed pipeline crosses the streams, and marked wetlands. All found boundary monuments were included on the drawing.
